Vancouver/Lower Mainland Deliveries
(For deliveries outside of Vancouver click here)
Vancouver customers have a number of options for container deliveries and pickups:
- Arrange own cartage or use their own truck
- Hire ContainerWest trucks
- Hire ContainerWest staff to coordinate with a 3rd party trucking company
ContainerWest currently operates a tandem axle crane truck suitable for empty or lightly loaded 6 ft to 20 ft units, a 30 ton crane truck and trailer suitable for 40 ft containers or larger lifts, and a tractor trailer for use when the customer can load or unload.
These units are usually available within 5 working days. Trips within the Lower Mainland with accessible sites and no waiting time are generally billed at a flat rate. ContainerWest truck rates include minor blocking and leveling at the delivery site.
For rush orders or where ContainerWest trucks are not available, outside carriers can be booked through ContainerWest. Flat rates or fixed prices are generally not available, although a rough budget estimate can usually be provided. Where a 3rd party delivery invoice exceeds the estimate, the customer’s cost is the actual invoiced amount. All 3rd party delivery charges are invoiced separately from the container after actual costs are known.
There are no handling fees to load a customer arranged truck at any ContainerWest yard.
When ContainerWest staff is coordinating trucking, the Delivery Information Sheet must be completed prior to the delivery. Any and all extra charges are the responsibility of the customer. Extra charges can result from, but are not limited to: inaccessible site, waiting time at delivery site, unstable ground, obstructions such as trees or power lines, unsafe reach distance, and unsuitable road.
ContainerWest has invested in a dedicated truck fleet to provide better service to our customers. Our staff will work hard to meet each customer’s schedule and delivery requirements.
