Refrigerated Containers

 

Refrigerated containers offer a great temperature-controlled storage solution. They are great for keeping perishable goods cold or frozen, and will maintain any set temperature between -20 °C and +20 °C.

ContainerWest sells and rents both working and non-working reefers. Non-working reefers are a good choice if you need a well-insulated container but do not need it to actively control the temperature of your goods.

Common container features:

• 20' x 8' x 8'6" or 40' x 8' x 9'6" exterior dimensions
• Aluminum or stainless steel sheet exterior,
  washable stainless steel interior walls
• Dense foam insulation in walls, doors, ceiling, and floor (approx R20)
• Aluminum "T-bar" floor to allow for air circulation
• Galvanized door hardware with lockable door handles
• Forklift pockets and corner castings for ease of handling (20' only)
• Fully opening doors at one end

Common refrigeration unit features:

• 460V 3 phase electrical power input, roughly 30A draw at startup
• 230V 3 phase power, roughly 60A draw (select units only)
• Ability to keep cold goods cold, typically to -20C
• Adjustable, weatherproof vents
